Beer and Bowling!

Do you know what the best part of having a bowling alley 2 minutes from your house is? The fact that they have our favorite beer on tap! Pitchers and gutterballs... perfect date night!

Settin' em up and knockin' em down!

Of course my ball is pink!

Tied for a HORRIBLE final score. We really tried here, too!

This is what we're much better at!

Snow on the Beach!

A little while back, my area of Virginia got hit with a bit of snow. Living so close to the water of Buckroe Beach, I got extremely excited. I mean, how often do you get to see a snow covered beach?! Skip and I wanted to take photos of each other, and actually play in the snow, but we're both big babies when it comes to the cold so we left after snapping these! Apparently full coats, boots, scarves and the whole nine yards aren't enough to keep us from missing the indoors, Ha!

Unfortunately  we clearly did not get there soon enough as most of the sand was trampled and unsightly. But, I still think these photos are cool enough to share!

This little guy was adorable! He kept running around in circles and playing in the snow!

My new snack obsession

A little something Skip, my husband, and I have been working on since October is a lifestyle health change. Not just a diet, but a rewiring of eating habits in general. Let me tell you, I'm still on the learning curve! It's been going great, but I'm no health expert and I certainty have fallen victim to a cupcake or two (shhh!).

However, I thought it would be fun to share some of my healthy tips and tricks I'm learning along the way for beating those bad habits!

My current favorite? Carrots and Laughing Cow cheese. Yes, I'm in love. It beats carrots and veggie dip any day, and the cheese is low in  calorie and high in taste. My favorite is the Garlic and Herb light variety. Give it a try!

Oh Hello Blog!

It's been a while, huh?! If you've followed my blog in the past, you'll know that writing and posting is something I enjoy immensely, but don't always have the time to do consistently. Between Dismantled Fashions, my new graphics/web design project Stay Sick! Design, and day to day life... I tend to let the blogging slip from time to time.

Well, I'm back now and more inspired than ever! I've started keeping a log of "future blog posts". When I take my precious free time TV breaks, you can find me jotting away in my Cruella Deville notebook with ideas and random scribbles. (Speaking of TV, anyone else crazy excited for new Walking Dead episodes?!)

So keep your eyes peeled for giveaways, product reviews, more pin up tips, the ins and outs of Dismantled Fashions, and all the dorky random things I'll probably post. Can't wait to see you there!!

And please leave me a comment on things you'd like to see on here. My number one goal is to make posts you like, so help a girl out and leave some suggestions.

Kind of a sad amount of photos this week. I spent the whole week in bed or on the couch with the flu :( That's why we had to go with last minute costumes - I was supposed to spend that week making them! Oh well, we pulled it together and ended up looking great! As for the flowers, that's just one of the amazing things about my husband, Skip. Every time a bouquet dies, he gives me a new one cause I'm just lucky like that!

What in the world have I been doing...

I feel like a one woman one of these.

It's pretty much Spring here in the ol' northern hemisphere. That means BUSYBUSYBUSY season! My days consist of wake up, check emails, drink copious amounts of caffeine, sew, sew some more, fill some orders, eat, sew more still, and then finally do some sewing. It's absolutely amazing. It's precisely why I love doing what I do... that amazing sense of accomplishment when you finish something and package it up all pretty. I adore keeping busy, especially if it makes someone happy in the process!

So, while I may be pretty lax on the consistent posting at least lots of pretty clothes are coming out of the deal!

If you want some clothes for FREE, make sure you check out the current giveaway to win a ChaCha Skirt in your favorite colors/print!

Sewing through the ages! My new favorite collectible.

There's a few things I love across the board. Sewing, history, collectibles... It makes my newest collection/obsession seem obvious. A while back, I posted about acquiring my grandmothers vintage treadle machine, and that's where it all started. My momma found a 50s/60s table machine to add to the mix, and from there it snowballed. I decided I wanted any and every one I could get my hands on.

So, being a big fan of Freecycle, I kept an eye out for ads and even put up a wanted ad. Boy... did I score! All the machines below were completely free and in remarkably good condition, considering. I still need to do some research and find the years and stories on each model, but, I'm the luckiest sewing nerd ever!

A hand crank model, complete with original coffin style case.
